They had replaced the service of God with a dead religion and so thought they could atone for their own sins and because of this God would not even accept their sacrifices to Him. Very few preachers even touch it other than for reference. Haman was promted to be the 'prime minister' of the Persian empire and this everyone had to pay ho9mage to him, which they did, all except Mordecai and Haman was greatly angered by this and sought revenge, not just against Mordecai but against his people, the Jews. He is exceedingly knowledgeable and has a grasp of the word that few other ministers have. Romans 4:16 If it depended at any point upon human ability to continue to believe, then the promise could not be secure.
But fasten your seat belts! It is a work of God and depends upon Him alone. We know that ultimately the Lord's love and justice met when His wrath was poured upon our Lord Jesus on the cross of Calvary. Join Chuck Swindoll in this study of Jonah 1:9—17 as he teaches us how to walk through the storms of life. It seems that 400 years of doctrinal disputes—with outstanding scholars on both sides of this continuing issue—appears to be the result of a failure to adequately distinguish between justification salvation and the possibility of several different kinds of inheritances or rewards. Hosea beseeches the people to return to the Lord and repent. Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified. The greatest proof of eternal security is justification by faith.
The Lord passed judgement on Israel. Like a father, God can and does correct His earthly sons, but they always remain sons cf. His main target was the Northern Kingdom, yet his message was for the people of God. The rest of the chapter gets back into the teritory of God's charges against Israel, these include exploitation, injustice and the most abominable sexual sins, it is again more evidence of adulterous attitude of Israel toward the Lord, but also shows how we are toward Him aswell in running after our 'idols'. It is incumbent upon the Christian to seize upon the discernment that God has provided for in His precious truth! It's going to be an exciting and highly privileged excursion! The Lord chose Hosea's marriage to illustrate how He felt toward Israel, His adulterous wife. It is also an adventure of discovery, since the dramatic narrative is laced with numerous hidden messages in the form of microcodes and macrocodes, each anticipating the New Testament climax.
But now Israel was almost as abominable as in those days. This was a great honour for Haman, who is overjoyed by it, so they have their banquet and the king asks again what Esthers request is, but again she bides her time. Gomer is up for auction as a slave and Hosea buys her back with all he has, he then takes her home and reclothes her. There is an alternative view which lies between these two extremes. Israel in Hosea time, like our society today, believed that right and wrong were relative concepts thatcould be correct for one person but not necessarily for another, this is of course is utterly wrong God is absolute and He defines right and wrong. The God of Elijah looks after His own. If this wasn't enough for Haman the day after Esther exposes his plot to the king to kill her and all the jews the king flies of into a rage and demands Haman be killed on the very instrument of execution that he had prepared for Mordecai.
God, having justified the ungodly,5 will not—and cannot—contradict Himself by charging them with evil. His justification comes from the imputed righteousness of Christ and is legally ours! Christ's birth, betrayal, agony, death, resurrection, ascension, coming again in glory, and his worldwide reign - all are pictured in inspired vividness. This is usually called sanctification. As a leading program in Christian broadcasting since 1979, Insight for Living airs in major Christian radio markets around the world, reaching people groups in languages they can understand. The king shows her mercy and asks what her request is, she asks that she would prepare 2 banquets for the king and Haman. There are also those that are interpreted differently at this point in time, but I don't believe in preventing these differences being discussed or aired, unless they are fatally flawed with regards to the core beliefs required for one to be saved from God's wrath through faith in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ to pay the penalty for our sins. .
Chuck Missler, founder of Koinonioa House, prolific author and encourager for those who study the Bible, has died at the age of 83. For Jonah, it was an actual storm. We are all heading for a final exam, and behavior matters! How only His precious blood could atone for the wrong of not just Israel but for all of us. To assume that there is some sin which is sufficiently serious to cause us to forfeit our salvation is to assume that we were less worthy of salvation after having committed this sin than before, and it reduces salvation down to human ability to merit it. Haman went to the king and lies and asks that all the jews be killed in a holocaust fashion, the king doesn't check the facts but agrees and a decree is sent through all the empire. It was written by a Jew, to Jews, about a Jew. Yet, that specified land is the most contested on the entire planet.
What else, in the entire universe, matters? One of the most painful - but essential - blessings is the stripping away of our delusions and erroneous presuppositions! Chuck and Cynthia, his partner in life and ministry, have four grown children, ten grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. The Lord as always offered Israel one last chance to repent but they did not and so judgement came in the form of exhile into Assyria. My hats off to Chuck Missler as he goes verse by verse expanding and enlightening the book of Psalms. That is why a degree of responsibility must be left to the listener to do their own investigation of the subjects, and of those putting forward their opinions here. The Bible is full of different codes from equadistant letter sequences to macrocodes, the Word of God has depth which can never be fathomed, the interesting point about some of the codes is that encoded words are always found in passages where the plain text bears some relevence to the encoded word, a phenomenon which is unique to the Bible.
We are sealed unto that day. This redemption was eternal7 and once and for all. That his beauty of teaching he makes you think. His Gospel deals with our past: salvation. So when the day finally came that all the jews should be killed they fought for their lives and were helkped by the authorities.
According to the New Testament, discernment is not optional for the believer-it is required. For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. Paul seeks to provide them with the necessary guidance to bring them to full maturity. Mordecai was made prime minister of the whole empire and so was given the task of resolving the issue by the king. Because they had cast god away He would cast them away. Church has a special way of teaching.
John's First Epistle deals with our present: sanctification. You may not like Chucks style of teaching. After a search is conducted he choses Esther, a jewess who was the neice of Mordecai one of the kings lords, and a descendant of Kish, king Sauls father. Interestingly the king is unaware of Haman's true intent until he is exposed by the Esther, Haman is deposed and later put to death, as the flesh must be as the flesh can perform many 'godly' works but will never surrender as long as we are this side of eternity, and Mordecai given rule of the empire. After two centuries of abandoning their heritage, God sent Hosea to present His indictment and declare that He would use their enemies as His judgment. I than God I stumbled onto his YouTube lessons which lead me to his inspirer Church Smith who is also and extremely accurate and enjoyable preacher.
